Your First Professional Interview

Preparation is the key to effective interviewing!  You'll learn:

how to present yourself professionally in various types of interviews (phone, group, one-on-one, behavioral), 

how to research the organization, 

how to dress, and 

how to communicate well and follow-up with employers.

This workshop will describe some common formats of second interviews and will assist participants in preparing for them.  Topics will include salary negotiations, evaluating job offers, making hotel and travel arrangements, and expectations of on-site visits.

Business Etiquette for Job Success
This workshop will review appropriate and considerate behavior for conducting yourself in a professional manner during interview situations.  Other topics that will be addressed include:  interviewing during a meal which incorporates proper table service and ordering; the etiquette of introductions; and well-mannered behaviors.   These sometimes overlooked situations can have a tremendous impact on the outcome of the interview.

Now that you have reviewed interviewing skills, you are ready to practice the behavioral interview.  Identify and respond to frequently asked questions and receive feedback to enhance self-confidence and improve success.

Prepare for your interviews by attending this workshop to learn: what to expect at each stage of the interview: behavioral interviewing and answering those difficult questions; professional dress and grooming; appropriate follow-up after the interview. Prepare to effectively relate past performances to answer interview questions. There will be an opportunity to practice answering behavioral questions.

In this workshop we will discuss the array of monetary benefits that should be considered during the negotiation process, when to discuss salary and how to communicate your value during the interview.
