The Photography Association at Arizona State University is a club that encourages and supports the exploration of photography as a fine art medium in all its forms including but not limited to analog, digital, cameraless and experimental processes. The club sponsors workshops, demonstration, portfolio reviews, studio and artist visits or talks, and hosts fundraising events and member exhibitions. It is linked to the Society for Photographic Education, an international professional organization that promotes and supports photographic education at all levels of academia. The organization increases access to the photographic arts for School of Art students and the broader ASU community and is designed to provide members with the opportunity to develop their practice while discovering new ways to implement artistic solutions and creative thinking in various career paths. By cross-pollinating the arts with other areas of the university– and creating opportunities for all students to develop their artistic practice– The Photography Association at Arizona State University promotes both community and innovation, ultimately serving a diverse membership.
