At Career and Professional Development Services, we believe that your major doesn’t necessarily define who you are or your future career. Instead, our advisors have identified nine Career Interest Communities (CIC) to help students identify and connect their personalities, abilities and passions to achieve their career goals:
By combining your major or profession of choice with your CIC, you can gain a better perspective on potential career paths that make the most sense for you.
For example: If a student has a Communication degree, you may assume that they would like to be a journalist or go into advertising. However, if the same student’s CIC is Health and wellness, they may instead be interested in speech pathology or being a medical insurance representative.
Determining your interests helps you to pursue a career that you thoroughly enjoy, so as you explore your majors and career interests, let us support you in your efforts.
